Battling Depression? Learn about Depression Self Help.

Depression Self Help - How do you accomplish that when you’re the one that’s depressed?

What I want to teach people, is the only way out of depression is to get out of your own way.

I’m standing on the other side of depression so I’m putting myself in your shoes – someone who’s battling depression actively – and I’m thinking to myself “If someone would have said that to me when I was actively battling depression I would have lectured them up one side and down the other about how ‘I can’t help it’ or ‘I have a chemical imbalance’ or ‘look at everything I’ve been through.’” So if you’re thinking these things right now, or any other number of excuses we come up with when we’re battling depression, I have one thing I want you to remember…You’re Right.

I am not a cruel person. I’m not a person who lacks compassion. One of my loudest characteristics has been said to be empathy. I am just a girl who has been through it. I probably haven’t been through what you’ve been through. (I know. That’s what I used to respond with as well.) Perhaps you’re right. But you haven’t been through what the next person has been.

There is always someone who has it worse than you do.

I don’t mean to undermine your feelings - believe me, I've had them. But I want you to know before you tread deeper into this website, my intention here is to help you get out of your own way using depression self help. And I will if you’ll let yourself.

So yes, we’ve heard it all before. What a cliché actually. The “there’s someone else who has it worse than you” phrase. But truly, have you ever taken the time in between your sorrows to look around?

I knew someone who was a victim of something unspeakable. This woman is now one of the happiest and most inspiring women I have ever known.

When I made up my mind to get my life back, I would think of her whenever I was feeling down, to remind myself, not of her troubles, but of her victories. To remember that nothing I have ever gone through would be as difficult as what she had to overcome, but she did. Why did she? Why did I? Why should you begin Depression Self Help Because whatever you’re going through, from this moment on, is in your past.
